1. Open Beta Notice

Parl8 is currently in open beta. This means that the service is under active development and may experience changes, downtime, or data resets at any time without prior notice. As an experimental service, data, user accounts, or preferences may be deleted or modified during beta testing.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Parl8, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the service. For paid or registered users, acceptance must be confirmed by actively agreeing (e.g., clicking "I accept") prior to using the service.

3. Beta Service Disclaimer

Parl8 is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding availability, accuracy, or completeness of data or AI-generated content. Parl8 does not provide legal, financial, or political advice. Users should verify any critical information through official EU Parliament channels.

4. Use of Service

Parl8 is made available for citizens (free users) and professionals (paid users such as journalists, analysts, or organizations).

You may use Parl8 for:

• Research and educational purposes
• Personal and non-commercial analysis of EU Parliament activities
• Professional use under an active subscription plan

You may not:

• Use Parl8 for unlawful, misleading, or harmful purposes
• Reproduce or resell AI-generated outputs without authorization
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or overload the system
• Circumvent or breach any technical or access restrictions

5. Licence Grant and Intellectual Property

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Parl8 and its AI-generated outputs for personal or internal professional purposes. All rights, title, and interest in Parl8, including software, models, and data, remain the property of demAI ApS. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of Parl8 without written consent.

6. Data and Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Danish law. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Parl8, you consent to this processing.

7. AI-Generated Content

Parl8 uses generative AI systems to analyze and summarize EU Parliament data. Users should be aware that the content is machine-generated and may contain errors or biases. Such content should not be considered factual or authoritative. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the EU AI Act's transparency principles.

8. User Accounts and Responsibilities

Professional users must create an account to access subscription features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, demAI ApS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data. Our total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to demAI ApS in the twelve (12) months prior to the claim.

10. Modifications and Service Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Parl8 or its features at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated through our website or via email when legally required.

11. Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refund Policy

11.1 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

If you are an EU consumer, you normally have the right to withdraw within 14 days. By starting your subscription immediately, you agree that the service will begin before the withdrawal period ends and that your right of withdrawal may be lost once the service is substantially provided.

11.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription anytime via your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.

11.3 Refunds

Refunds are not issued for partial periods unless required by law. If you cancel within the withdrawal period and have not used the service, you will receive a full refund. If you have partially used the service, a proportional amount may be deducted.

11.4 Exceptional Refunds

In cases of technical issues or outages exceeding 72 consecutive hours, we may, at our discretion, provide a partial refund or credit.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse Parl8, or engage in behavior that harms other users or demAI ApS. Termination does not limit our rights to pursue other legal remedies.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Danish law. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you may also benefit from mandatory rights under your local consumer laws.
